Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) is Europe’s most cosmopolitan technical university with students, professors and staff from over 120 nations. A dynamic environment, open to Switzerland and the world, EPFL is centered on its three missions: teaching, research and technology transfer. EPFL works together with an extensive network of partners including other universities and institutes of technology, developing and emerging countries, secondary schools and colleges, industry and economy, political circles and the general public, to bring about real impact for society.

HE-Arc Engineering supports a globally unique industrial environment, developing directly applicable and applied research that closely reflects the region’s economic, services and industrial companies.
The results of this research are constantly incorporated into the teaching programmes delivered at HE-Arc Engineering.Through its teaching programmes and research activities, it offers its partners a genuine technological intelligence platform designed to support their innovations and developments, including technology transfer through junior engineers.
HE-Arc Engineering’s strategic positioning is defined around four fields of activity corresponding to the principal design and production specializations encountered in the Swiss Jura Arc region, Smart & micro-manufacturing: (solutions for flexible, efficient and interconnected production facilities), Smart sensing & micro-systems (solutions incorporating the Internet of Things, sensors and MEMS), Watchmaking & industrial luxury (from design to industrial production in the watchmaking sector), and Medical technologies (from imaging to implantable micro-system, supporting health and medicine).
HE-Arc Engineering’s vision can be summed up in a single slogan: “Dare… Think… Do !”. These three words encapsulate the essence of the engineers the school trains and the philosophy of its staff.

Thanks to its reasonable size, favorable student-teacher ratio and dynamic environment, the University of Neuchâtel (UniNE) provides exceptional conditions for innovation in natural and social sciences. With over 4000 students and hundreds of researchers, the University offers a high-level education across 40 disciplines. Its research activities focus on a variety of areas such as time/frequency, photonics, optical metrology, strategic management for complex and distributed computer and sensor networks, big data mining, secure and dependable systems,  Internet of Things, problems of confidentiality and encryption in data processing. The UniNE also specializes in the study of intellectual property and innovation law and has a confirmed expertise in the research area of social innovation as well as the social, economic and territorial dimensions of technological innovation.
